The Foundry

About The Foundry

We are building the definitive engine required to scale hard things. Our mission is to forge the Physical AI Capital of America right here in the Mountain West. By aligning strategic capital, raw engineering talent, and ruthless operational discipline, we don't just reduce friction; we blow the doors off the traditional path, accelerating breakthrough physical technologies from a raw concept into a scaled empire.

We back founders at ground zero, providing full-stack, execution-driven support across every phase of the war: technical architecture, rapid prototyping, commercial validation, and capital deployment. If a challenge is too massive for our internal bench, our broader network of operators drops in to crush it.

Our support is hands-on and fiercely technical. Founding teams work directly in the trenches with our in-house engineers and domain experts on system architecture, testing, and early product development. We don’t sit in an ivory tower giving generic, whiteboard advice—we get our hands dirty and solve hard problems right next to you.

If you are building another app, go somewhere else. But if you want to bend atoms, cut steel, and solve the hardest physical problems in the world—this is the place to do it.

Focus Areas

Defense, Aerospace & Autonomy

Utah is where defense hardware gets dragged out of the lab and into reality. Anchored by Hill Air Force Base—the global sustainment hub for the F-35—and surrounded by restricted airspace and unforgiving terrain, we are the ultimate environment for dual-use technology. We fund and scale the hardest physical systems: from autonomous swarms and contested-environment sensing to heavy-lift field robotics.

Energy, Water & Environmental Resilience

You cannot scale Physical AI without a resilient grid. We treat Utah’s diverse energy portfolio—spanning nuclear, geothermal, hydrogen, and solar—as a living laboratory for the next generation of critical infrastructure. We back founders solving the physics of resource scarcity, utilizing the state's unique geography to stress-test grid-stabilizing hardware, long-duration storage, and industrial water resilience technologies.

Infrastructure, Industrial & Resource Technologies

The future is built out of atoms, not bits. We use Utah’s massive footprint in mining, metallurgy, and advanced materials as a launchpad to rebuild the physical economy from the ground up. We focus strictly on the heavy automation that matters: intelligent extraction systems, next-gen composites, and the heavy-duty manufacturing infrastructure that secures the supply chain.

How we build

  • We don't just wait for good ideas to walk through the door; we forge our own. We specialize in de-risking breakthrough technologies and forming companies from scratch. Whether we are incubating our own internal concepts or partnering with early-stage talent, we provide the hands-on engineering, specialized infrastructure, and anchor partners required to turn raw physical tech into real companies.

  • We run a fluid, execution-driven accelerator built around the unforgiving realities of scaling physical AI and hardware. We help teams cross the "Valley of Death" to commercialization by forcing ruthless focus on measured outcomes: technical delivery, securing real-world customers, and proving undeniable traction.

  • We architect the exact capital stack you need to survive the capex cycles of physical engineering. Whether that means securing non-dilutive government grants, structuring debt and private equity, or aligning you with thesis-driven VCs, we build the funding strategy that gives you the runway to reach escape velocity.

  • Sometimes you don't need an accelerator; you just need to solve a critical engineering bottleneck. We deploy our in-house experts to deep-dive on specific, massive technical problems. We work directly with your team to engineer solutions efficiently and affordably, getting your hardware back on track without destroying your cap table.

We are looking for the engineers and outliers bringing AI into the physical world.

From energy to aerospace, if you are solving a hard problem, this is where you build it.
